An Hour Lost

We've had quite a bit of rain this year, and usually that's good for making fall colors.

In dry seasons, the leaves just say "screw it!" and hit the ground as quickly as they can.

The air this time of year is just different. It's nice.

Once a good rain comes and knocks all the leaves off, you'll be able to see clear through the woods.

Turkey buzzards...they like their meals well marinated in the summer heat and they like the meat so rank that nothing else will touch it.

I dunno what they were after. I walked through the whole woods and never seen or smelt anything dead.

Those buzzards swarmed over my head the whole time I was in the woods. Either something was dead somewhere or something reallllly bad is fixin' to happen to me.

That's Buddy on the left and one of his muts camouflaged within the leaves on the right. Buddy is my companion on most of my walks.

Somebody stole an hour of my life last night.

It was a lil after 3 P.M. here and the sun is on it's way down. I really disapprove of daylight savings time. (Notice how I struggled not to say hate.)

“Nature has been for me, for as long as I remember,
a source of solace, inspiration, adventure, and delight;
a home, a teacher, a companion.”
